Overture to Cosi fan tutte K.588
Clarinet Concerto in A major K.622
Symphony No. 40 K.550

The last few years of Mozart’s life were beset by financial insecurity yet he still produced some of the most extraordinarily profound works of his career.

Often considered Mozart’s most sublime solo work, his Concerto for Clarinet in A major will be performed by New Zealand’s leading clarinettist and Co-Principal with the NZSO, Philip Green. Composed during the final year of Mozart’s life and one of the last works he completed, this concerto takes on an additional mood of poignancy and reflection.

Composed within a seven week period that also included the composition of Symphonies No. 39 and 41, the 40th Symphony is one of Mozart’s most admired works, demonstrating great passion and depth of emotion.
