Mindfulness is a way of being attentive to reality as it is at the moment rather than as we want it to be. This course is facilitated by a clinical psychologist and the focus is on using mindfulness as a tool to gain psychological health by decreasing symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress.

Research shows that mindfulness results in decreased depression, anxiety, stress and pain with practitioners reporting significant levels of improved overall physical and mental well-being. Practitioners report being better equipped to manage daily life and stressful circumstances with a greater sense of happiness.

Over the four weeks of the course, participants are asked to practice the various mindfulness techniques for at least 30 minutes a day for five days a week. It is hoped that for the duration of the course, participants will experience the benefits of mindfulness and find the technique that most suits them.

The courses for 2013 run for four consecutive weeks from 6pm-7:30pm are at:
Lotus Holistic Centre in Hastings - starting on Wednesday 27 February;
Breathe in Havelock North - Starting on Tuesday, 5th March;
Napier - 50 Dalton Street (above Glassons) - Starting on Wednesday the 27th March.
