The SQL Server Analysis Services course is designed to provide training in how to design and implement data analysis and data mining solutions.

All training courses in the Microsoft BI Academy program are two days in duration, and have been specifically designed to enable students to quickly commence developing and maintaining state-of-the-art integrated Business Intelligence (BI) solutions developed by using Microsoft products.

Each training course consists of theory, demonstrations and numerous hands-on labs that will provide students with the opportunity to understand the full potential of the Microsoft BI platform and gain invaluable experience through hands-on interaction.Microsoft BI.

After completing this training course, students will be able to:

Describe the deliverables of Analysis Services data models (BI Semantic Models)
Understand the entire life cycle of delivering data models
Design, develop and manage multidimensional data models
Design, develop and manage tabular data models – developed by using the Tabular Project
Translate business requirements into the appropriate data model design approach
Describe data mining business scenarios
Understand the entire life cycle of delivering data mining solutions
Design, develop, browse, test and query a data mining solution

SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services in Tabular mode

Audience
The Microsoft BI Academy program has been designed for a broad array of professionals, including IT managers, IT professionals, developers and business analysts. Apart from having a basic understanding of database technologies, there are no specific technology or product prerequisites.

Certification
This training course was not specifically designed to prepare students for a Microsoft certification. However, the content delivered in this training course will serve as a useful resource for introducing theory, products and best practice design patterns that are tested by the Microsoft certification exams.

About the Instructor
Peter Myers has worked with Microsoft database and development products since 1997. Today, he specializes in all Microsoft BI products and provides mentoring, technical training, and training course content authoring for SQL Server, Office, and SharePoint. Peter has a broad business background supported by a Bachelor’s degree in applied economics and accounting, and he extends this with solid experience backed by current MCSE and MCT certifications. He continues to work directly with Microsoft in Redmond producing training content, and continues to present at major SQL Server conferences, including TechEd and the PASS Summit. He has been awarded Most Valued Professional (MVP) by Microsoft for SQL Server since 2007.
