A fun family day including live entertainment, market stalls, hāngi lunch, kids activities, adult trivia, costume competition, car and boat displays. Organised by Kaiapoi Promotion Association and Kaiapoi Community Board with major sponsors Visit Waimakariri, Creative Communities NZ Waimakariri and Ministry for Culture and Heritage.

The main stage will host a musical lineup from 9:45am including: Easy Come Easy Go, Ground to Air, The Muse, Kaiapoi High School Kapa Haka, Kaiapoi Brass Band, Sport Suzie, Sweet Adelines, Sharon Russell and a medley of dance and drama acts from Dale Hartley.

The second stage set in amongst the rose gardens will feature a kid’s scavenger hunt, storytelling, traditional Māori games and Zumba with a twist.

There will be hāngi on offer for lunch as well as roast lamb sandwiches, hotdogs, chips and traditional delicacies. Pre-purchase your hāngi lunch for $6.50 from Kaiapoi i-SITE to guarantee you don’t miss out. Contact Kaiapoi i-SITE on 03 327 3134.

The biggest feature of the event will be the Kids Zone. On offer will be face painting, a bouncy castle, flax weaving, hair braiding and 10 different activity packs.

Activity packs can be completed at the event or taken home and gifted to a sibling or friend. Packs include paua necklaces, colouring books, word puzzles, fridge magnets, kete decorating and many more.

Anyone can enter the free Corcoran French costume competition by arriving to the event in period costume. There are three prizes up for grabs donated from local businesses.

The day will be fun for everyone, so bring your friends, family and neighbours and make your way down to Trousselot park 10am Wednesday 6 February.
