Southland Musicians, bands, soloists, community cultural groups will come together for one day in an open air concert in Queen's Park to raise money for the typhoon-ravaged Philippines.

Hope Philippines - Southern Band-Aid benefit concert is a free event, designed to attract the whole community. An auction, with fantastic donations of goods and services from the businesses community will also take place during the event.

Audiences are encouraged to bring a picnic and plenty of sunscreen. Donations will be gratefully received throughout the day.

Later, the gig will move indoors to Players Entertainment Centre. See separate listing for this event.

Confirmed artists in the line-up include:
Into the East, Lipstick, Rhythmonyx, Bryan Townley, Steve Broad, Daniel Monteath and Michelle Lange, Jack Fraser, Cheryl Anderson and Craig Allott, Belinda Jenkins, Emma Williams , Jacqui Williams, Hollie Longman, Jessie Brand, Dion O’connor and band, Rogue, Dene Allan, Craig Waddell and Tracey Maclennon, Alice & Harry (Blues Avenue), Tahne Brown, Metua Marama and Otepuni Moonshine. The full list of musicians and entertainment will be posted on the Hope Philippines Facebook page, as more artists come on board with the project.
