Based on a true story, "Calendar Girls" is now the fastest selling play in British theatre history. Currently enjoying huge popularity in Britain, with over 200 productions in the past year, this smash hit comedy is hilariously funny, poignant and uplifting.

The members of the Women's Institute (WI) in Knapely, Yorkshirek indulge in baking, painting, crafts, knitting, fetes and harvest festivals. When Annie's husband John dies of leukaemia they decide to raise funds in his honor to replace the awful settee in the cancer wing at the local hospital. Instead of the usual WI calendar, they decide to do a calendar featuring themselves nude, doing what WI women do - crafts. Under the pressure and tension of the project friendships are tested and trusts are broken. But they had no idea of the worldwide sensation that would develop - not because of the nudity, but because of their courage, bravery and grit.

A very funny play, but also an inspiring one.
