MUZAI Records

Every year, the MUZAI crew get together, fire up a BBQ or something similar and end end up getting into the festival spirit. It was usually quiet, in-house affair...

... until the great fortune that we've been bestowed with throughout 2013, with the incredible support of everyone who for some reason follows this rag tag independent label.

BBQzai (credit: Martyn Pepperell) is basically our "Kitchmas Party" thrown out to anyone and everyone in Auckland on December 7th. We've manage to cobble together some of the gang from out of town, your usual suspects and some friends; so while feasting on the sausage sizzle, you also get to see -

- Wilberforces, who were sorely missed during the MUZAI Year 4 show.
- god bows to math, fresh off their tour of China
- Girls pissing on girls pissing, not only having completed their tour of Australia by this time but also having released "Darwinning", their three track EP following on from their previous album "Eeling"
- Hollywoodfun Downstairs, recent acquisitions to Australian management company Footstomp and getting spun a number of times on UK radio
- The shocking and stunning; who we've long time been fans of and stoked to have join in on the fun.
- Park Tapes - a beats/production project from some of the Deer Park crew.
- Dad Jokes - scummy garage punk two piece with a 95bFM number #1 under their belt, a savvy cassette tape "True Love" available now and dab hands at FIFA 14.
- Proton Beast - now a fully formed three piece featuring members of 2013 Critics Choice Award nominees Paquin. Very loud, very fun.

With thanks to Coopers and Sapporo once again for their kind offer of beer.
