Auckland Choral
Manukau Symphony Orchestra
Conductor: Uwe Grodd.

Auckland Choral joins Manukau Symphony Orchestra in a performance of the ‘Ninth’ - Beethoven’s great choral symphony - and Brahms’ haunting and rarely performed meditation on the fragility of life, Nänie, which, like the ‘Ninth’, is based on a poem by Schiller. 2013 is the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Manukau Symphony Orchestra. To mark this significant anniversary, the orchestra has commissioned The Manukau Heads - A Symphonic Fanfare by Jonathan Besser, with the help of Creative New Zealand.

Featuring:
Besser: The Manukau Heads - A Symphonic Fanfare;
Brahms: Nänie, Op. 82;
Beethoven: Symhony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125.
