Come along between 12:45 and 1:30pm to meet some of the friendly ambassadors of the Wellington SPCA! As part of our support of the White Ribbon Day campaign we are hosting volunteers from the Wellington SPCA and their furry friends for 45 minutes of cuddles.

Research shows that violence towards family members often starts with violence towards animals. Children and families benefit from showing empathy towards animals and this helps prevent escalating violence. The SPCA has been running a programme called One of the Family which, alongside all their other humane education programmes, aims to bring about a safer, kinder, society for animals and people. We think that sounds just like the police vision of Safer Communities Together so we're right behind them. Join us at the weekend as we give some homeless animals some love. It's good for the animals, good for us and good for our community.
