Learn to create powerful visual impact for stage and photography, with inexpensive materials.
It’s that time of year again folks, we are getting ready for the NZ Body Art Awards. If you’re like me and have lots of fun make your props, that’s great! Come make your props and masks with me, I’m teaching two half day workshops on body sculpture.

I love making props that work with the body’s natural movement to enhance body art creations. I’ll show you my secret tricks and my favourite tools. You’ll learn to utilise wire, latex, papier-mâché, anything else you bring, and lots of other simple household materials, which will help you to create stage magic.

Saturday 14 September Introduction and Planning
In order to get the most out of the workshop, we will discuss your designs, materials and specific techniques you would like to learn. This will enable me to tailor the course to your individual needs and give you a chance to source the right materials for your prop/s.

We’ll be designing your props and building the bones. We’ll determine the specific purpose of the props; whether you’re creating simple accessories to enhance your body paint, or constructing a complete illusion. The techniques we use will depend on your design. Let me help you with any problems you are having with the props you are creating.

Sunday 15 September Day Two – Finishing effects 10am – 1pm
Now that your bones are dry, and your creation’s skin is coming together, it’s time to bring it to life! Paint, feathers, leather, fabric, you’re only limited by your imagination and what’s in the bottom of your cupboard.
I’ll see you there!

Please bring your materials with you!
