In the true spirit of Christmas, Torbay Theatre is presenting Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol' at the Torbay Community Hall this December.

'A Christmas Carol' will appeal to all ages and is truly family entertainment. If the Muppets did it – it must be good! This production has been faithfully adapted directly from Dickens' greatly loved story by Wendy Dodds, who has been awarded a Master of Creative Writing degree at Auckland University. The directors are Jill Reid and Jacqué Mandeno.

The cast of 20 plus includes experienced actors and members of the community, including local children and students from 'Voiceworks'.

The story itself presents the best that we can hope for at Christmas and this production has the added bonus of some inspired choral work, led by Graham Mandeno, who sings with the New Zealand Opera Company.

The play transports you into the Victorian world of the miserable and miserly Scrooge and will move, amuse and remind you of what is really important at Christmas time. Why not make a night of it and go for a meal at one of Torbay's nearby excellent restaurants, then come to the show!
