New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) is the language of the New Zealand Deaf community and was recognised as New Zealand's third official language in 2006.

This course introduces basic NZSL skills necessary for simple communication with deaf people.

New Zealand Sign Language 1 is suitable for beginners who wish to gain an introduction to NZSL for personal or business reasons, or for personal study.

By the end of this course students will have:
Learned basic grammar;
Acquired knowledge about Deaf Culture and Deaf community;
Developed awareness of NZSL communication behaviours;
Developed basic receptive and expressive skills for everyday communication situations.

Early bird discount available until 2 weeks prior to the course start date.
