Iyengar yoga emphasises precision and alignment in postures. Simple props are used to maximise the opening and awareness of the body, providing support to the less flexible, and extra extension to more advanced student.
Iyengar yoga is not limited to those who are young, fit and flexible - it may be practised at any stage of life.
On a purely physical level, practice of the asanas (postures) increases muscle tone and general vitality. It also rapidly improves circulation, co-ordination and balance - offering a truly holistic approach to health and well-being.
Fran Campbell has internationally recognised qualifications in Iyengar Yoga.
A reasonable level of fitness & some experience of yoga is required to take this class. (We also offer a Beginner class.)
Props, such as blocks and straps are provided. Wear comfortable clothing, bring an exercise mat and two thick blankets.
8 x 1.5 hr sessions; Monday or Wednesday nights.
