Hekama Creative is pleased to announce the inaugural Rough, Raw and Ready showcase as part of Wakapurei 2012, running from Monday 25 June to Saturday 30 June 2012 at the Basement Theatre in Auckland. Wakapurei is a collaboration between the Tamaki Makaurau Matariki Festival Trust, Banana Boat Charitable Trust and Hekama Creative.
Rough, Raw and Ready is a showcase of six semi-staged readings of plays by new and established Māori and Pasifika artists.

Mafu Loto-lahi is back home for good after a lengthy prison sentence. With Mafu missing out on so much of his siblings' lives (Mele now 22 and Kepu 18), the Loto Lahi family must find a way of living without the guidance of Mum who passed away after battling cancer.
Suli moa is a graduate of Toi Whakkari, New Zealand drama school 2009. He recently graduated from Auckland University Teacher Training College with a graduate diploma in Teaching Secondary for Drama and Dance.
"A Hearts Path" is Suli's second theatre piece, his first play "Kingdom of Lote" premiered in May 2011 at Mangere arts centre.
