Nau Mai! Nau Mai! Haere Mai! Welcome to the Wairoa Maori Film Festival 2012!

To be held over four days at Kahungunu Marae, Nuhaka, the Wairoa Maori Film Festival is a weekend feast of Maori, Pasifika, indigenous and international film. Short films, features, documentaries, media art installations, music videos - a celebration of new and emerging global native talent!

The festival is unique as the entire festival is hosted at a traditional Maori meeting house, the master carved Kahungunu Marae. Our $120 festival pass is all inclusive, including all meals, marae stay, awards dinner with Te Hamua Nikora.

This year for the first time a return bus to Auckland is available for only $50. The festival bus will also transfer guests over the weekend to nearby Morere Hot Pools and private accommodation options in Morere and Mahia.

This is our seventh festival year, so join us as the seven sisters of Matariki rise on the horizon, Kahungunu Marae, Nuhaka, Wairoa, Aotearoa New Zealand: June 1 to 4, Queens Birthday Weekend, Matariki 2012!
