Twilight ‘Bike the Southern Loop’ Series
Every Tuesday from 15 May – mid August 2012
Two starts: 5:30 and 7:00pm from a CBD location
A 1 hour off-road loop using the Taylor River Bed and Lower Wither Hills
With daylight saving hours over the Twilight ‘Bike the Southern Loop’ series has been created to meet the demand for people wanting to maintain their riding and fitness with a regular weekly ride on a set route, predominantly off-road, with little or no vehicular traffic and close to town so people can ride from home and share the camaraderie and safety of being with other riders.
The start/finish venue will be CBD-Maxwell Rd-Munro Street-Taylor River Reserve-Junior Mtb track to main Mtb park-lower single track to link to Stock Route-Rifle Range track-Redwood Street-Finish. The loop is about 1 hour. There are several ‘early exit’ routes off the Rifle Range track (Weld, Scott or Redwood Streets) that are more direct back to Fairweathers on Scott where your ride tag can be redeemed for a post ride drink.
Note: All areas and tracks in the Wither Hills Farm Park other than those identified in the loop are not to be ridden 1hr after sunset or before sunrise other than for the specific dates and times of the Twilight Series. The Marlborough District Council has granted permission for these tracks to be used for the series as a one-off event.
Registration up until 5:15pm on the day at AvantiPlus Blenheim, 61 Queen Street.
Other/ride rules:
