Four bands. A hard rocking jambalaya of metal, rock, punk, blues and stoner doom. Doors open at 8pm, first band 8.30ish.

About Triceratops:
Triceratops is a non-governmental Stoner Doom Metal organisation formed in 2010 with offices in over forty homes, and with an international coordinating body in Auckland, New Zealand. Triceratops states its goal is to "ensure the ability of the earth to nurture life in all its diversity" and focuses its work on worldwide issues such as stone monoliths, candles, sea monsters, Machiavellian wizards and boutique beer issues. Triceratops uses loud guitars, distorted guitars and slow guitars to achieve its goals. Releases to date include an EP titled Triceratops Vs. Music - a collection of songs about misty moors, sinister islands, eldritch gods and terrors from the deep.

About Faults:
While playing alt-country influenced acoustic music with his sister in law, Stephen (the Haints of Dean Hall/the Subliminals), raised with Richard his concern that he might never use his mesa boogie amp and make rock music again. Some time later, a group of friends was mutually-assembled, based around the notion of playing at higher volumes. Songs were written around simple guitar riffs, left for complex ex- and Jasper (Meterman). The resulting tunes were played at a small number of local venues, before the group recorded this first collection of songs.

The seven songs were recorded in a single day by the band and Nick Cunnigham (Black Door Studios). Long time collaborator Tex Houston (the Clean/Subliminals/3D’s etc.) mixed and mastered the tracks in his Dunedin studio.

About Dust Up at Dawn:
When forming Dust Up At Dawn the guys were initially aimed at Garage Punk whilst writing and performing a few songs, things developed into a whole different creature, and as band members came and went Dust Up At Dawn realised they were actually, a lot of different genres, rolled into one big epic sounding collaboration of sweet sweet noise. So we’ll just leave putting them into one at the moment. The band is: Paul with solid riffs in a multitude of styles and his gat tuned to the heavier side of the metal coin. Snowy, with his rather, well, punk inspired vocals and still manages to surprise everyone by actually hitting notes and holding them. Tom the Bear on bass a bastion of the solid stance or the well timed lunge during a particularly distorted bass line. Nick on drums famed for breaking sticks during the faster song’s Dust Up At Dawn have or just throwing them around for the hell of it.

Dust Up At Dawn have spent the past two years writing and performing their songs and have as of recently concentrated on live gigs with success. So now’s time to hit the recording studio and punch out an 6 track EP with the eventuality of releasing an album.
