Matariki Te Arawa 2012 in conjunction with Te Puia Rotorua, proudly presents:
The 2nd Annual Matariki Te Arawa Women's Dinner & Awards.
We Honour Our Mothers.
We are proud to provide the platform from which a special awards ceremony will occur where seven Matariki stars (our mothers of the tribe) will be acknowledged for their tireless contributions to Te Arawa/Tuwharetoa in the areas of Education, Health, Govt & Public Service, Iwi & Hapu Development, Marae, Waiata Composition and an overall lifetime contribution to Te Arawa.
The event is the second of its kind to be convened in Te Arawa and follows on from a hugely successful event last year which has seen each of the recipients of those awards going on to achieve significant success and recognition in their respective music and arts industries.
We are also lucky enough to secure the participation of Ardijah again for the concert part of the evening and also profile three rising stars, Maori R&B/Reggae artists whom have all recently released debut singles which our audience will have the luxury of enjoying for the first time LIVE.
They are Majic Anania (Kaipara), Sammy J (Brisbane) and Soulsista Mel Davis (Waiheke Is)
