"Marvellous" - Best of Theatre 2011 - NZ Herald

Three actors on three treadmills for sixty minutes. It's as simple as that in 'Standstill', the critically acclaimed play from the Rebel Alliance.

Inspired by true Stories, 'Standstill' is a sharp and constantly sweaty dark comedy about the hopes, dreams and fears we have for our lives. The production - and its three actors struggling to keep up as the pace inevitably cranks up to the max - had the critics raving during the 2011 Auckland Fringe Festival.

“Writer and director Anders Falstie-Jensen has woven an impressively-crafted, snappily-written whole out of snippets of modern life and his wry vision of cyclists, doctors and Aussie tour guides is well-delivered by the three chameleon actors” - NZ Herald

“I have a suspicion that if 'Standstill' debuted in Britain it would be hailed as an instant contemporary classic.” - theatrescenes.co.nz

Doctors, hairdressers, German tourists and world champion cyclists… it’s all there in this provocative sweat dripping snapshot of modern life. 'Standstill' is bound to leave you breathless.
