Dame Stella Rimington has lived a myriad of lives: archivist, diplomat’s wife, spymaster and novelist.

Her career as the first female and first publicly identified head of MI5 is well-known, as are her novels centred on feisty spy Liz Carlyle which have earned her fans around the world.

Her latest book Rip Tide (2011) charts a lively tale of pirates and terrorists linking England, Greece, Somalia and Pakistan.

Enjoy a three-course lunch with glass of wine by the water at Soul Bar & Restaurant and hear Dame Stella talk about the ways in which her fiction writing draws on the riches of her fascinating professional life.
