Poetry that isn't meant to be read but meant to be heard, experienced and enjoyed. Members of the South Auckland Poets Collective will showcase their experiences, thoughts and feelings about life through their brand of spoken word poetry. All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the SAPC performance at The Brave New Voices Conference, July 2012 in San Francisco. Ticket price includes a glass of wine or juice. The cafe will be open for sale of coffee, Rush Munro ice creams and sweet slices.

Zane Scarborough
Zane Scarborough has been travelling the country presenting the Attitude programme in New Zealand high schools since 2006, and is the Manager of the Attitude Team. He has delivered over 1,000 presentations to more than 100,000 teenagers throughout the North Island. The Attitude programme includes topics such as drugs and alcohol, sex, depression, youth suicide, and now social media and technology, which Zane was involved in developing.

The group started in 2008 through a Youthline initiative to get young people interested in poetry. Currently there are 10 members. Since starting they have performed at Te Papa Museum, many galleries, Splore Festival, Fringe Festival (both Dunedin and Auckland). The group is made up of youth workers, actors, students and people who just love literature.

Zane won the first Trans-Tasman poetry Slam held in Melbourne and came third in the NZ National Poetry Slam 2011.
