Do I reveal my experience of mental illness to a prospective employer? Let's be honest: There is still some stigma attached to mental illness. Because of this people are often reluctant to reveal that they have had experience of mental illness to others – especially prospective employers. They fear that it will affect their ability to have employment.

How do we deal with this remaining true to ourselves? After all, most people who experience mental illness still have skills and much to offer in a work environment.

Topics covered:
• How much information about a mental illness does one reveal to prospective employers.
• Do you think your "illness" will affect your ability to do the job. If so, how.
• How could an employer accommodate your needs in this area?
• What compromises could you make to assist your employer and fellow workers.
• Your experiences (stories) in seeking employment - positive and negative.
• What can we learn from the above?
• How do we go about expressing "our needs" in the working world?
