Hundreds of Auckland primary students present their garments created from found materials to a panel of judges in the hope to be selected for the finalist show in September. Categories for the 2012 competition include Gobstoppers (fantasy), Up Up and Away (fantasy) and The Jungle Look (organic materials).

With only one in four designers selected for the awards presentation the semi-finals are created as unique fashion shows where all these students can feel that they have been included in something special. Come be inspired by these young creative Kiwis and support all the hard work they have done.

Show One - 1:45-2:40pm:
Fantasy categories - Gobstoppers featuring designers from school years 0 to six. These creative kids have made garments entirely from trash and inspired by lolly loving characters or character lolly's. Expect wearable art, costume and colour and prepare to be surprised about what the young-ones can accomplish.

Show Two - 4:15-5:05pm:
What would explorers wear when they are taken up up and away here? What was hiding in the jungle when the world had more trees than roads? Children from school years 1-6 have answered those questions by creating costumes from inorganic and organic waste.

No tickets required, but seats allocated on a first-in basis. Limited to 300 persons.

Transport. Limited road parking.
Bus stop located directly outside school on Godley Road. Please go to www.maxx.co.nz for timetables.

Produced in partnership by Auckland Council and Keep Waitakere Beautiful.
