Christmas is truly the season for giving, and this year Rotorua Museum invites the local community a chance to do just that!

The Rotorua Museum Community Christmas Tree, sponsored by Farmers, will be put up in the Museum foyer, ready to receive your donated gifts for Waiariki Women’s Refuge.

Families, individuals and companies can bring your wrapped gifts and place them under the tree. Please make sure they have a gift tag indicating whether they are for a mother or child, and if for a child, the sex and suitable age range.

Donated gifts will be delivered to Waiariki Women’s Refuge just before Christmas to be shared out to families in need. Any of your presents donated after Christmas will be taken to the refuge at the conclusion of this event (4 January 2013).

A special children’s activity table will be located near the Christmas tree for children to make a Christmas decoration. The activity table will be available from 3 to 31 December 2012 and you can hang your decorations on the tree or can take it home.

For any queries regarding The Rotorua Museum Community Tree and the children’s Christmas activity table please contact William Yip, email william.yip@rdc.govt.nz or phone 07 351 7829.
