Join band master F/S Clyde Dixon LLCM, FTCL, and the magnificent men and women of the Band for music, dance and "sweet treats" at their final appearance in Palmerston North.

Clyde Dixon has chosen sets of well-loved military music, which will honor the heritage of the military bands, as well as tunes to encourage the audience to dance.

MC “Fred Astaire” will front the event, and will repeat his best tricks from previous Ohakea tea dances and the Retro Dance. This includes jokes, cheekiness, and a pocket full of spot prizes. A trademark of the Ohakea event has always occurred after the last waltz. You may not even notice seven inconspicuous balloons on the ceiling amongst the big silver stars. At the end of the evening Fred bursts these balloons while our DJ plays “Catch a Falling Star” by Perry Como. Thousands of tiny silver stars flutter down to the floor, with a challenge set to catch one of the seven red stars amongst them.

Along with The Tall Poppy Café and Restaurant, The Cabaret Room is in the area of the RSA premises that are open to all. So everyone is welcome to witness the Band take their final bow.

“Dine ‘n’ Dance Deal” includes carvery meal as well, available from 5pm.

Door sales only but you may pre-book tables on 06 3532010.
