American fingerstyle wizard Richard Gilewitz packs in years of experience from playing and conducting guitar seminars worldwide, sharing real live hints on increasing playing skills that will unlock the mystery of the right-hand language to propel you to the next level. Classes are individual and group study, designed for all levels from beginner to advanced player. This is a rare opportunity to study with this master teacher, who is the creator of “GillaCamp” - the ultimate guitar experience and author of Mel Bay Publications’ popular seller Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop book and All Time Favorite Fingerpicking Guitar Tunes DVD, plus Truefire's interactive CD Rom lessons: Fingerscapes, Guitar Foundations, and Slide Guide.

This GillaCamp offers 3x 55-minute sets of different topics, to allow students to attend 1, 2, or all 3 sessions. Students will receive packets filled with music, plus the chance to win prizes.

6pm - Session 1: The Fingerpicking Engine
- Chops, licks, knuckles and stuff that propels your fingerpicking engine;
- Dynamics, glissandos, slides, grace notes, phrasing, harmonics;
- The use of silence in music.

7pm - Session 2: Tune Breakdown
- Breakdown 3 tunes as you study various techniques of patterns and nuances;
- Hone your fingerstyle techniques with a popular folk, classical, and blues tune.

8pm - Session 3: Exploration of Open Tunings and Slide Guitar
- Applying patterns to chords in open tunings;
- Exploring a new landscape for the guitar fingerboard;
- Exercises with the slide.
