The award-winning team at The Outfit Theatre Company are delighted to present the NZ premiere of Punk Rock by Simon Stephens.

March 27th - April 7th (no show Monday 2nd April)
Tues to Sat - 8pm, Sun - 6pm

“Everything human beings do finishes up bad in the end. Everything good human beings ever make is built on something monstrous. Nothing lasts. We certainly won’t...”

William Carlisle has the world at his feet but its weight on his shoulders. He is intelligent, articulate and f**ked.

In the library of an elite English private school, William and his fellow sixth-formers are preparing for their mock A-Levels while navigating the pressures of teenage life. They are educated and aspirational young people, but step-by-step, their dislocation, disjunction and latent aggression is revealed.

Contemporary and unnerving, Punk Rock is The History Boys meets The Catcher in the Rye.

Punk Rock was nominated for Best New Play at the 2010 UK Theatre Awards.

"a superb new play... evokes the twilight world of the teenager with scary vividness..." - Charles Spencer, Daily Telegraph (UK)
