Michael Tippett - A Child of Our Time
These two groups of young musicians, around 130 in total, will perform Michael Tippett’s A Child of Our Time, one of the 20th-century’s outstanding works. Inspired by the 1938 Kristallnacht pogrom against the Jews in Nazi Germany, the work includes settings of American spirituals which provide a familiar context for this moving secular oratorio.
Come, see and hear the NZSO National Youth Orchestra and the New Zealand Youth Choir and experience the Sound of Tomorrow!
