Bring your family and fill our seats as the kids from Batterie 100 fill your heart with joy this Christmas.

Trained by and sharing the stage with our own world-class percussion crew; Strike, these young Wellingtonians will amaze you with their musicianship and inspire you with their enthusiasm and skill.

It's School of Rock meets Drumline in a high energy night of fun and excitement for the whole family!

- An international reputation
The Batterie 100 crew work under Strike artistic director Murray Hickman (pictured) and fellow Strike member Tim Whitta, and perform alongside them on stage.

Since founding in 1993, Strike has built an international reputation and a strong local following. They were a Downstage Resident Company 2008-2011 and have performed at such high profile events as the APEC Leaders Dinner and the 2011 Rugby World Cup Final.

Along with fellow Strike member Tim Whitta, Murray Hickman, Artistic Director of Strike received Kiwibank Local Hero Medals in 2012 for the Batterie 100 programme.

- A very local mission
The Batterie 100 programme is designed to make a difference in the lives of young people from the Wellington region.

Meeting the challenge of performing sophisticated ensemble percussion pieces can teach lessons beyond the simply musical. Teamwork, discipline and the understanding that impossible-seeming goals can be broken down and achieved with commitment and concentration are among the rewards participation in Batterie 100 can bring.

This concert is the result of many, many hours of dedicated practice and training from performers and tutors alike, but the benefits will go far beyond this short season.
