An evolving touring exhibition of male contemporary artists based in New Zealand featuring creatives who employ intellect, keen observation and a lightness of touch in their work. Their output suggests current shifts in the attitudes of, and toward, male artists and the way these artists now make and contextualise their work.

The show is a response to these issues and, from curator James R Ford’s point of view, how he, a British born artist now living in New Zealand, situates his own practice within these considerations. Featuring a combination of fresh faces and well-known names, all pushing their ideas in new and exciting ways, the tour includes Elliot Collins, Bill Culbert, Paul Cullen, Simon Esling, James R Ford, Arie Hellendoorn, Sean Kerr, Peter Madden, Richard Maloy, Linden Simmons, and Wayne Youle. The line-up of artists and works exhibited varies along the way, with each space/location being responded to specifically.

Never Mind The Pollocks began at {Suite} Gallery in Wellington (Jan/Feb 2012), then travelled to Paulnache Gallery in Gisborne (May 2012), and will finish at St Paul St Gallery in Auckland (Nov/Dec 2012).
