Sailing into stormy seas and a future unknown, they may be salty but they’re not your average sailors. This one has feathers! This one has four furry legs and a tail! This one has horns and eats rubbish!
These are the brave animals that sailed with ships as mascots.

The Mates and Mascots exhibition tells the stories of these animals and their sailor mates. From catching rats to offering comfort and camaraderie, animals on ships provided much needed service.

Mates and Mascots is an interactive trail exhibition with plenty to see and do for all ages.
