Using Ableton Live software as a sound manipulator and sequencing platform, this one day hands-on workshop will teach you how to set up, create, edit and write your own track with a digital sound artist.

You will be guided through sound design and track composition techniques and touch on musical style, genre and writing style as you make, play and render your own track. See real life artistic applications of the Ableton Live software and enjoy making music rather than just using music software.

Participants will come away with an audio track made in Ableton Live, a basic understanding of the program, its functions and possible future uses. The workshop also touches on promotion of your track through sites like Sound Cloud and Band Camp.

Famous artists who use Ableton Live include: Daft Punk, DJ Krush, deadmau5, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Diplo, The Rapture, Nine Inch Nails, Hot Chip... you could be next. This workshop is for musicians, music hobbyists, sound artists, and anyone that wants to try their hand at processing musical tracks. No prior knowledge is required.

Held in Room WT005, WT Building, AUT Tower 2-14 Wakefield St, Cnr Wakefield and Rutland St, AUT University.
