How to Make a Monster: The Art and Technology of Animatronics

Get ready, the secrets behind how to make a monster are coming to Hamilton! How to make a monster is an exciting, blockbuster exhibition that gives an insight into the art and technology of animatronics. The exhibition is based around the various stages in the creation of monsters and creatures made for motion pictures. From script writing to creature design and mechanics this exhibition has it all laid out step by step.

Full of exciting interactives this exhibition will be fun for all ages!

Guests can experiment with different lighting effects, touch the guts of the pitch black alien, and investigate and play with numerous mechnical monsters from various movies. Enjoy moving the controls and watching the monsters respond! Every aspect of animatronics is included with guests being able to see how mechanical eyes respond to the movements detected by motion sensors.

How to Make a Monster, the art and technology of animatronics was created by John Cox's Creature Workshop Pty Ltd.

John Cox has worked in both TV and on feature films, including Babe, Narnia – Dawn Treader, Peter Pan, George of the Jungle 2 and Inspector Gadget 2.
