Hospice North Shore, 7 Shea Tce, Takapuna Show map

All Ages

Ticket Information:

  • Reiki price per minute : $1.00

Reiki charity event to raise money for Hospice North Shore.

Anyone can come along and, whilst receiving a reiki therapy for yourself, you are simultaneously donating to a very worthy charity. Reiki can be purchased for $1 per minute, with a minimum of a 15 minute session. The maximum session is one hour, and it is advisable to book your slot in advance through Lily @ West Auckland Reiki & Massage, on 09-836-0676. Reiki will be given either whilst seated or whilst on a massage table.

All proceeds will go to Hospice NS. I will also donate 25% of my usual reiki session fee to the Hospice for any future reiki sessions booked by anyone attending the charity event.

Hospice North Shore cares for those who are affected by a life-limiting illness. They offer a professional service that strives to provide the best possible quality of life for our patients. Their skilled nurses, doctors and family support staff work together with each patient and their family/whānau to manage pain and other distressing symptoms.

They also support the families/whānau who may be taking on the 24/7 role of caring for a loved one in their own home. This can be an incredibly stressful time, emotionally and physically for everyone involved. While the majority of our patients continue to live in their own home, private hospitals and retirement villages, we have a 24/7 short stay in-patient unit at Shea Terrace, Takapuna. Patients may be admitted into this homely unit for symptom management to improve their quality of life, or for planned respite to give their family/whānau a rest. Some patients may come into the In-patient unit in the final stage of their illness.

The focus of hospice care is on quality of life, for both the patient and their families.

All hospice services are offered free of charge to those assessed as needing our support. While their services are partially funded, each year, to ensure they are able to care for over 500 patients and their families, they need to raise substantial funds from our community to meet this shortfall.
