Ever get the urge to create chaos by holding your cutlery in the wrong hand? Maybe you live dangerously by refusing to wear a napkin over your shirt...

This March, Black Sheep Productions will test their eating etiquette with Faux Pas, an original dance-theatre performance popping up in Dunedin cafes and bars. Performers will dance, chatter and hiccup their way around tables while the unsuspecting public looks on with bewilderment.

“These days it’s far too much effort for people to go to the theatre,” says choreographer Natalie Clark, “so we decided to take the theatre to the people. The performance is free, because you really can’t expect to be paid for this kind of middle-class nonsense.”

Because the performance is free, a crowd-funding page has been set up for Faux Pas on 'Pozible' (see the link above). We don't wanna die from eating budget spaghetti, people. Pozible lets you pledge a donation of your choice to Faux Pas and if we reach our target, the project receives those funds. If not, all donations are returned to the supporters.

To reconcile their bad manners, Black Sheep Productions promise that if you come and watch them they’ll do their best to eat slowly, quietly and daintily.

Free, friendly & slightly strange performances; educating your eating etiquette.

Thanks to 2012 Dunedin Fringe Festival and Creative New Zealand for financially coming to the dinner party.
