The Eastbourne Carnival has something for the whole family with rides and amusements, live music, delicious food and a wide array of arts and crafts stalls for pre-Christmas shopping.

The carnival is a huge bi-annual community event of family entertainment, delicious food and fabulous pre-Christmas shopping, with up to 20,000 people expected to attend. You will find quality crafts, gifts, jewellery, plants, books, clothing, toys, a wide range of speciality food, wines, beers and soft drinks, ice cream, rides and amusements to cater for every age.

This free event is a fundraiser for Muratai School as well as being Eastbourne’s big day out. To get to Eastbourne, drive via Seaview, catch a No. 81 or 83 bus or The East By West harbour ferry to Days Bay.

The action spills beyond the school gates, with Rimu Street closed off to traffic, along with parts of Oroua, Rata and Makara streets allowing the carnival to extend through the village. The rides, stage entertainment and most of the food stalls are situated in the school grounds. Local food retailers on Rimu St will also be open for business.

Hang on to your ice-creams and enjoy the rides! On the field there will be entertainment for the whole family and the young at heart, with rides, games and challenges.

Get ready for Christmas and do all your shopping in one day. There will be over eighty stalls to help you make a selection.

Parking details:
Rimu Street is closed off for the day along with parts of Oroua, Rata and Makara Streets. Muritai Rd will be open to traffic. Please take care to drive carefully. All day $5 parking will be available at Bishops Park. Follow the signs.
