New double single "Oscilloscape / The Blue" from Diving!

New album "Time Killed The Clock" from Daniel Boobyer!

Karaoke Taxi emerge yet again from a gruelling summer spent surrounded by makeshift recording spaces and odd electronics. One of the more elusive bands this side of the map, Karaoke Taxi rarely venture beyond the cardioid patterns of their microphones. But around once in a solar orbit, often as Southern Hemisphere reclines from its tenure as the sun's ultra-violet rays' primary target, armed with a new album of manic doom-psychedelia, Karaoke Taxi return to stages nationwide to twist guitar-effect madness around a tight, drum-filled core, setting audiences awash in a torrent of mentally conceived and electrically realised sonic energy. Like a weird dream you wake up from to discover you've set your radio alarm to a number station... Karaoke Taxi will seep into your head and start turning knobs until... Will that be tube or solid-state distortion, you ask? All will be revealed at any one of the four dates of their March 2012 tour...

Joining are Diving, who arose from Wellington's subterranean depths sometime around 2011 to immerse gig-goers in a maelstrom of distortion, looping and delay. Their twin chief executives seek to stir the Earth's very atmosphere in an asteroid storm echoing form left to right, and on a good day, all the way back to left again. Combining succulent synthetic goodness with guitar mayhem and drumming which errs on the side of driving and at times even tribal, Diving are reportedly ecstatic to be venturing North for the first time to share the atmosphere with audiences anew.

Completing the line-up is Wellington artist and songwriter Daniel Boobyer, who carries an age-old message of love and the frailty of human emotion and friendship in his often introspective sound, self-described to be akin to that of a 2000-year-old hurricane caught in a blues musical. Picking up where his 2010 album Dripping With left off, Daniel's new album Time Killed the Clock conjures a lo-fi, atmospheric blues dream anchored deep in the human subconscious.
