The countdown has begun for the arrival of entertainment extraordinaire Barry Humphries’ arrival into New Zealand with his critically acclaimed his farewell production: “Eat Pray Laugh!”.

Just 10 days remain before the man whose alter egos include inebriated cultural attaché, the Honorable Sir Les Patterson, and Moonee Ponds’ legendary housewife, Dame Edna Everage, unleashes himself.

Fans are urged to be quick as tickets are being snapped up, starting at just $59. Tickets available at www.buytickets.co.nz

‘Razor sharp brilliance...’ - The Australian, June, 2012

‘Everyone stood to honour an exceptional artist who changed Australian culture forever’ - Sunday Telegraph – 8 July

‘A rousing send-off, a clever retrospective and a great show. See it now’ - Sun Herald – 8 July

‘Crude, facetious and very, very funny’ - Timeout Sydney – 9 July

While his famous creations are not officially retiring, the great Dame with a penchant for gladiolis, insists that this will be her final tour.

“So, Possums, please do come and say goodbye to me. It would be lovely to see your faces for the last time,” Dame Edna says.

During the all-singing, all-dancing spectacular, Dame Edna promises to “empower” audiences as she meditates on the big issues.

“You will see me at the height of my powers, taking you on a wonderful spiritual journey you'll never forget. I'm not saying my show will heal you, but you'll certainly leave the theatre feeling considerably better for the experience.”

While Act One of Eat Pray Laugh! features Humphries with his friends, this really serves as “just a bit of foreplay really before I make an orgasmic appearance in Act Two”, Dame Edna says.

“Dame Edna insists that we do this final tour to farewell our many friends in New Zealand,” Humphries says. “She has toured the world since the mid 1950s and she is ready to kick off her heels and tend to her gladiolas.”

Paul Dainty said “Dainty Group is thrilled to work with Barry on his final tour of Australia and New Zealand, this is a historic moment in entertainment history as one of our legends farewells his fans on his final tour.”

This brand new show is directed by distinguished multi-award winning director Simon Phillips.
