MUM + Rekkit present NZ's meanest underground music from Cut Off Your Hands

A band that truly need no introduction: but here's one anyway.

Cut Off Your Hands are one of New Zealand's foremost indie/alternative bands, and have been wowing audiences here and abroad with their unmatchable, angular live show for a number of years.

With a recent release of sophomore album "Hollow", the band have reshaped their sound, following new influences especially rooted in breakout ‘60s artists like the Byrds and Bob Dylan. Not to mention all the Kiwi pop and Paisley Underground acts that ran with those very same influences in the ‘80s and ‘90s, including such fellow countrymen as the Bats and Bird Nest Roys.

If you don't believe me, you'll probably believe Pitchfork who gave "Hollow" a 7.3: http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/15738-hollow/

And watch this: http://vimeo.com/25738215

With support from Glass Owls, The Leers and Tied On Teeth (final show!)

MUM and Rekkit got into bed together at the end of January this year. It was pretty sweet so we decided to put our collective heads together and book an amazing month of bands at Cassette. Here's our first offering.

As always, $10 on the door after 10pm / DJs from 10pm. Get in early, this will be a busy month.

Special monthly concession tickets for $30 including a free download are available from UndertheRadar as of Monday the 30th of April.

Thanks to Vice and UnderTheRadar and the New Zealand Music Commission.
