The Fourth Wall is an ambitious installation by the highly respected German artist Clemens von Wedemeyer produced for Barbican Art Gallery, London, in 2009, and has been brought to New Zealand by Auckland’s St Paul Street Gallery and the Dunedin Public Art Gallery. This intriguing film-based project, investigates the relationship between fact and fiction in documentary-making, paying particular attention to the famous discovery in 1971 of the Tasaday people in the Philippines, who were purportedly still living in a Stone Age situation untouched by the influences of civilisation.
Exhibition supported by the Goethe Institute
