Basic Intensive Training (BIT) in choice theory, reality therapy and lead management with Kalikamurti Suich.

Target audience for this course:
Past graduates of the BIT include teachers, principals, counsellors, social workers, youth workers, health care professionals, police and correctional services staff, HR consultants, supervisors and managers.

Overview of the course:
What Choice Theory (CT) and Reality Therapy (RT) offer that is different from any other training is it gives a clear theoretical framework for why and how every person behaves to meet their needs and the strategies, skills and tools to assist professionals to stay totally centred in the client’s, student's or staff member's world.

The counselling techniques are a series of questions that are culturally neutral, seeking to understand the priorities of the client, student or staff member or whilst simultaneously engaging their own problem-solving capacities. This style of working is positive present tense and future based. We cannot change the past but we can assist people to take control of their own future as individuals, families, organisations and communities.

Lead management is the practical application of CT and RT at the organisational level and supports employees and managers to work with integrity and clarity and realise their potential and build and maintain quality, sustainable workplaces.

Course outcomes:
At the end of this hands-on, practical 4-day course, participants will:
• Develop and practice the skills of reality therapy and lead management
• Gain accreditation by The William Glasser Institute - the first stage of a sequential course of study which is available through the New Zealand branch of WGI
