The town of Carterton in the Wellington region is the daffodil capital of New Zealand, and each year locals and visitors come to pick armloads of daffodils and to check out the craft and produce stalls during the Carterton Daffodil Carnival.
Wander around more than 150 craft and produce stalls in Carrington Park. Carrington House & Garden will be open to the public for $5 per person (usually only group tours of 14 or more at $10 per person). Entry through High Street gates.
A shuttle bus to Middlerun to pick daffodils leaves from the firestation next to Carrington Park on the half hour from 10:30am. A small fee will be charged for the daffodils. Proceeds from picking going to the Carterton St John Ambulance and Carterton Plunket.
