Starting at 4:35am on Saturday 4 September the Canterbury region has been shaken by several large earthquakes and their consequent aftershocks. These earthquakes have been acknowledged as some of the most significant events in Canterbury's history, especially the events of 22 February 2011, when the face of Christchurch was changed forever. This exhibition remembers these events, has a focus on the science of earthquakes, looks at the social impact of this disaster, and places a strong emphasis on looking forward to the future.
