Auckland-fabulously-frugal-meetup-group. Hello West Auckland, we are coming your way.

Our dependence on electricity is outrageous... But as winter approaches, many will face ever-spiralling electricity bills and energy costs which are as gloomy as the cold winter weather... Help is at hand! Join us!

With our combined:

3.And tips
We will beat the money-hungry energy giant and keep hard-earned cash in our own pockets!

Please bring:

- Food to share (for 2 people)
- BYO refreshment
- A blanket or camp chair to sit on (optional)
- Sun hat or umbrella to keep the sun off
- Sunblock (although we will picnic under shade/cover)
+ 1 tip to share... on saving energy at home or keeping warm in winter. You can bring item(s) if you want to show/demonstrate to the group.

We will have a quick and friendly energy quiz... Just for fun!

Bring a friend or neighbour - the more the merrier!

Kids are welcome. So long as they are supervised in the water and not disruptive during the group talk.

Look for the smiley face balloons. We will meet & picnic on Point Chevalier Beach (ask anyone if you are lost and they will tell you how to get down to it).

Turn left when you hit the sand and look for us... parking and picnic spots should be easier to nab before lunch... *gulp*

Coyle Park has an open environment covering nearly 5 hectares. Fantastic harbour views and a coastal edge characterised by steep cliffs and rock shelf exposed at low tide. There is significant mature coastal vegetation along the cliff top. Defined, well-structured access paths lead from the park to Pt Chevalier beach, along with a number of informal access paths down the cliffside.

• Point Chevalier Beach (yay - will be high tide so bring your togs to swim)
• Barbecue
• Picnic tables
• Children's playground
• Toilets
030 Bus stops at park entrance ($3.80 adult from Britomart, $2.00 child) - Leaves from Britomart every 30mins on Saturday... and takes 35mins to get there from city centre.
