Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Vermeer and many other Dutch artists were asked to participate in this exhibition, to support the "Holland Festival", celebrating the Dutch Queen's birthday and "Dutch Liberation day".

Queen Beatrix is a sculptor herself and known for encouraging artists. She will be pleased to learn that instead of the established masters, nine local artists of Dutch decent are showing recent work and that if there was twice the space available there would have been eighteen. The artists are showing a wide variety of disciplines; paintings, sculptures, jewellery and more.

Games are an important ingredient of every “Holland festival”, so there has to be a prize to win with this exhibition as well. The typical New Zealand raffle was selected for this purpose, the prize is a cheque with which art from the exhibition can be purchased.

Opening: Thursday May 3 from 5 till 8 pm.
Holland Festival: Saturday May 5, from noon.
Raffle tickets available from gallery and exhibiting artists. The draw is May 5 in the afternoon.
Exhibition closes at May 15.
