{Suite} Gallery is pleased to present ‘Ms, Mr & Master X’, an exhibition of selected works by Fiona Pardington, Wayne Youle and Arie Hellendoorn. Fiona Pardington's work looks at the history of photography and representations of the body, taking in investigations of subject-photographer relations, medicine, memory, collecting practices and still life. She is widely regarded as the pre-eminent contemporary photographic artist working in New Zealand today.
Wayne Youle has produced an impressive and remarkably varied body of work in the last decade, which can be linked by one factor - his sense of humour. Youle’s works resonate in that sometimes edgy space where Maori and Western cultures meet or have met. Arie Hellendoorn draws his influences from a diverse range of sources. He is interested in the crackle between abstraction and the figurative, the decorative and the representative.
