  • Children 7-12yrs - daily rate: $25.00

A nine day programme of classes with tutors at the Rotorua Arts Village, and the Education Team from the Rotorua Museum.

Recycle & Upcycle
Tuesday 10 April
Trish D’Muth at the Arts Village will show you how to create a magnificent gargoyle head using recycled materials. Helping to save the planet.

Taiko Day
Wednesday 11 April
Resident Arts Village drummers Kiwi Racco take you for a day of hands on drumming. Bring out the inner drummer in you with Japanese beats. Wear loose clothing.

On Stage
Thursday 12 April
A day of theatrical training with local acting doyenne Val Dyson for any and all future stars of the big screen. Debut your talents here!

Greek Myths Day
Friday 13 April
Design and make a Greek shield, or Zeus’s master bolt. Decorate yours with images of the Gods / Goddesses. Are you with Athena or Poseidon?

Monday 16 April
Two awesome photography related projects - at the Museum using pinhole cameras, & at the Village with Calico Jo. She’ll show you - bring your own camera!

Faking It
Tuesday 17 April
Geoffrey Cox will be taking this antiquing class where you get to age your own images. Hand-colour the pink and white terraces, then crackle the surface. You might be able to sell yours to a tourist if you’re really good!

Mono-prints & Lino Cuts
Wednesday 18 April
Trish will be taking this funky workshop playing with inks and making mono-prints five different ways. Older children will do lino-prints. Wear something old!

Who Am I?
Thursday 19 April
Explore some new territory with full-size portraits from artist Geoffrey Cox. Be inspired by the Dowse show, on now at the Rotorua Museum, ‘Who am I’.

Muppets Or Puppets?
Friday 20 April
Trish D’Muth is back with some puppet magic. Are you a puppet or a muppet? With some wicked designs to draw inspiration from, and a day to come up with your best.

To ensure your child has a fantastic time with us please provide them with…

• Healthy snacks for breaks
• Bottle of water to fuel their creativity
• Rain coat/umbrella (just in case) & shoes

• 1:10 adult/child ratio at all times
• The strictest road crossing help
• First aid on hand
• Ample fun and creativity

Upon enquiry you will receive a detailed enrolment form and a program outline of what your child will be doing and where they will be. Fees can be paid online to make it easier for you, ask at the Arts Village for details.

Your obligations to us:

The enrollment form asks for important health and emergency information about your child, please take time to fill this out correctly when booking. You must drop off and pick up your child on time.

Programme suited to 7-12 year olds.

Please note each day starts at the Museum (9-11.00am) and finishes at the Arts Village (11.00-3.00pm).
