Wellington Zinefest hits its 5th year in 2011 with a return to Mighty Mighty on November 19.

Wellington Zinefest is a celebration of self-publishing magazines ("fanzines" or "zines") featuring comics, manifestos, collage, oddball narratives and obscure archives. Zinesters will gather to sell their wares, with many zines costing as little as a gold coin. Entry is free.

After perusing zines, members of the public can spend time at the workshop table, creating a page in response to the theme of "love letters and hate mail." All the materials are provided, with the results compiled into a single publication that is sent out to all contributors free of charge.

As ever, Wellington City Libraries with be at this year's event, introducing their zine lending library to the public.

At the After Party the "Best of the Fest" trophy will be presented to the creator(s) of one stunning zine for last year's winners, Hannah Salmon and Ben Knight of 'Daily Secretion'. Music on the night from Zinesters: Nervous System, Robin, Daniel Boobyer and The False Dmitrys. After Party will be held at Happy (Cnr Tory & Vivienne streets) 8pm onwards.
