Flying the flag for our Arts Village

Groups, clubs, artists, families, children, community, creating 'skyart' together. This is the idea behind our next community art project.

The concept was to have an activity that brought different members of our wider community together to create. People that create together, play together. This project is about saying hello to each other. Finding out about what others do. While at the same time making something bright and expressive that can hang outside, to show all the passers-by that there is life within these walls.

We want groups, individuals, clubs and families to come and take part. Altogether there are 20 banners and around 5 wind-tunnels to be made.

We will be providing 4 workshop dates for you to attend and make a banner.

The costs have been generously sponsored by Creative Communities Rotorua and the Rotorua Trust, so they are essentially free.

What we want is your time, and enthusiasm, as well as your creative ideas and expressions.

The works will belong to everyone. Use them to promote your events at the Village or use them to promote yourselves. Make a crest, or some other group expression. Its up to you.

The info evening will be held Tuesday November 8th.

You must register your interest at the Village on office@rave.org.nz or call Cate or Julia on 3489008.

These workshops are being hosted by the Travelling Tuatara's and are a partnership with the Arts Village.

All welcome.
