This covers visioning/goal setting, observation, site analysis and permaculture principles, tools and techniques. It culminates in a holistic design which meets the needs of both human and natural worlds and includes organic vegetable gardens, fruit and nut trees, herbs and flowers, sacred and ceremonial spaces, woodlots, water harvesting, grey water and human waste recycling systems and renewable energy. On Friday evening there will be a slide show of inspiring examples of permaculture in different parts of the world.

Robina McCurdy, the teacher, is a founder/trustee of the Tui Land Care Trust and Community in Golden Bay and of the Institute for Earth Care Education Aotearoa. She has for the past 25 years been engaged in community development, permaculture design and tutoring, organic growing and in the development of powerful community building methods. She has worked with households, neighbourhoods, schools, farms, eco villages and bio regions in many countries.

The workshop will be held at Wellspring in Puhoi, a village 45ks north of Auckland. It comprises an acre of beautiful land with stream and bush, a spacious homestead and a magnificent church like venue space.

The workshop is residential and delicious vegetarian meals will be provided. The fees listed are the top and bottom ends of a sliding scale on which you find your own place.
